Political Violence
Political violence is not a tool of progress — it is the surest sign of failure. The following incidents — from clinic bombings and the Oklahoma City bombing (Tim McVeigh), to racially-motivated mass murder (Dylann Roof), the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, the targeted murder/attempts on elected officials and judges (Jo Cox, David Amess, the attack that killed the son of Judge Esther Salas, the assassination and attacks on Minnesota lawmakers), the home invasion and hammer assault on Paul Pelosi, the CDC campus shooter, repeated bomb threats that close schools, the stabbing of Iryna Zarutska, and the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk — are not isolated crimes or “necessary violence.” They are tactical and moral failures that destroy institutions, ruin lives, and set back any real program of advancement.
